Talbot County Community Center is the place to be!We have a camp full of great activities, programs, field trips, sports, swimming, arts & crafts, movies, & more! Sign up weekly or for the whole summer. Field trips include the Trampoline Park, Killens Pond Water Park, Laser Tag, and Bowling! Each week is full of various different activities. Camp will start June 17th and run for 9 weeks. Power Hockey Skate Drills - Summer Power Hockey Drills The Power Hockey Skate Drills class curriculum is designed to strengthen and advance the fundamentals of hockey skating. Skaters will increase their energy, power and quickness, learn critical transitions, and become more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals of power skating to be successful in game situations. Skaters should have completed Pre-Alpha 2 or be proficient in skating forward and backwards prior to enrolling in this class. Each session will consist of 6 classes of 30-minute lessons. Posture and Flow for Intermediate Skaters - Posture & Flow Summer Session Posture and Flow for Intermediate Skaters is for aspiring figure skaters Pre-Alpha to FS1 to work on figure skating specific skills. This class is for Pre-Alpha through Delta figure skaters.
The learning focus is on building a good posture while skating, good form of the free leg position while gliding, and arms flow. Skaters will be learning or improving forward and backwards crossovers, forward two-foot turns and three-turns, mohawk steps, forward and backward edges, and step combinations.
Music, props and games will be incorporated.
This class is geared toward figure skaters as an introductory class modeled after Power and Edge. If you are looking for higher level class check out Power and Edge which begins at FS1.

Jamie Webb Ice Hockey - Summer Jamie Webb Hockey The Jamie Webb Ice Hockey program is for children ages 4-14 years old that are able to skate. If your child cannot skate, we recommend that he or she take a class in our Learn-to-Skate program. You may request hockey skates for your child during the Learn-to-Skate lesson. Participants new to the Jamie Webb program are recommend to start in the Juniors class. The Jamie Webb class will focus on basic skating and balance and focus on edge control, starting, stopping, turning, etc. All of the equipment is provided and to be returned at the end of the season. Players keep the hockey stick and jersey.

Sign up weekly or for the whole summer. Field trips include the Trampoline Park, Killens Pond Water Park, Laser Tag, and Bowling! Each week is full of various different activities. Camp will start June 17th and run for 9 weeks. Adult Swim Lessons - Adult Lessons- Session 2 Guest Instructor, Sherye Nickerson with Three Fish Aquatics, will be leading our Adult Swim Lessons this summer! The class is being offered for non-swimming and beginner swimming adults only. This class emphasizes water safety and basic swimming skills. This is a one week session of four 1-hour classes. Limited spaces available so please register early.

Power Hockey Skate Drills - Summer Power Hockey Drills The Power Hockey Skate Drills class curriculum is designed to strengthen and advance the fundamentals of hockey skating. Skaters will increase their energy, power and quickness, learn critical transitions, and become more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals of power skating to be successful in game situations. Skaters should have completed Pre-Alpha 2 or be proficient in skating forward and backwards prior to enrolling in this class. Each session will consist of 6 classes of 30-minute lessons. Posture and Flow for Intermediate Skaters - Posture & Flow Summer Session Posture and Flow for Intermediate Skaters is for aspiring figure skaters Pre-Alpha to FS1 to work on figure skating specific skills. This class is for Pre-Alpha through Delta figure skaters.
The learning focus is on building a good posture while skating, good form of the free leg position while gliding, and arms flow. Skaters will be learning or improving forward and backwards crossovers, forward two-foot turns and three-turns, mohawk steps, forward and backward edges, and step combinations.
Music, props and games will be incorporated.
This class is geared toward figure skaters as an introductory class modeled after Power and Edge. If you are looking for higher level class check out Power and Edge which begins at FS1.

Power & Edge for Figure Skaters - Power & Edge for Figure Skaters - Summer Session Power & Edge Figure Skating in particular helps to develop more explosive acceleration, powerful strides, agility and balance on the ice. Power & Edges Figure Ice Skating techniques focus on both speed and strength training, along with practicing proper skating techniques, including body positioning and balancing drills. Because a beginning level of edge mastery and understanding is required, this class is for skaters in Freestyle Levels, or by request.

Jamie Webb Ice Hockey - Summer Jamie Webb Hockey The Jamie Webb Ice Hockey program is for children ages 4-14 years old that are able to skate. If your child cannot skate, we recommend that he or she take a class in our Learn-to-Skate program. You may request hockey skates for your child during the Learn-to-Skate lesson. Participants new to the Jamie Webb program are recommend to start in the Juniors class. The Jamie Webb class will focus on basic skating and balance and focus on edge control, starting, stopping, turning, etc. All of the equipment is provided and to be returned at the end of the season. Players keep the hockey stick and jersey.

Adult Learn to Play Hockey Lessons - Adult Learn to Play Hockey The program is open to adults 18+ who have never played hockey but want to learn! The class will combine on-ice skills sessions with instructional games. Participants will learn the fundamental skills of ice hockey including passing, shooting, skating with a puck, game play, and more. Participants must be able to effortlessly skate. Those who need to improve in skating skills are encouraged to join our Adult Ice Skating lessons. Participants will need a helmet, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants, and hockey stick. Hockey skates can be borrowed and returned each lesson from skate rental. Fee: $100 per sessionDates: Wednesdays, July 9th - August 13thTime: 6:45-7:45pmWho: Ages 18 & up
